Municipal Underwritings

J.P. Turner & Company’s Public Finance Department, located in Red Bank, New Jersey, underwrites municipal bond offerings for projects with credit ratings ranging from non-rated to AAA.

The Public Finance Department members have over 50 years of combined experience in municipal underwriting, and have worked together over the past 20 years completing approximately 70 municipal financing projects, specializing in areas such as senior living facilities, including nursing, assisted living and independent living facilities. This group has underwritten numerous industrial development bonds as well.   The department members also have expertise in restructuring defaulted municipal bonds and participating in Chapter 11 reorganizations where the principal debts are secured municipal paper.

A successful municipal underwriting is the result of extensive due diligence efforts and thorough analysis aimed at determining an appropriate deal structure that addresses the needs of the borrower while presenting an attractive investment opportunity for suitable investors. Our municipal underwriting sales and syndicate professionals are also integral to coordinating and executing a successful municipal underwriting.
